The David L. Lawrence Convention Center will become the No.1 party spot for Pittsburgher’s on Friday February 24th and Saturday February 25th. The venue will play host to Pittsburgh’s fourth annual Winter Beerfest during the weekend, and tickets went on sale earlier this month.
The event, presented by Fat Head’s Brewery, will be a little bit different this year than in past years. Due to an increased demand, the event will now offer a special Saturday afternoon session. Previous Winter Beerfests were only on Friday and Saturday evenings.
This year’s festival will feature over 400 different beers for guests to sample. East End Brewing Company and Penn Brewery highlight the selection of local beers and Dogfish Head and Oskar Blues highlight the national brands that will be in attendance. You can view all the beers available for sampling here.
There will also be live music throughout the event and food trucks will be onsite, for anyone interested in grabbing a bite with the beer.
Tickets for the event are $55 when purchased in advanced and $65 when purchased at the door. As a holiday special though, early admission tickets can be purchased for just $45 up until December 25. This special includes a souvenir mug and an unlimited sampling of each beer.
If great beer and live music wasn’t enough by itself, the event is also raising money for a good cause. Portions of the fund will go to Animal Rescue Partners, a 501-c-3 organization dedicated to supporting numerous animal rescues, pet adoption groups, and community spay/neuter programs in the Pittsburgh area and beyond.
